Chessboards & Supermarkets
Suppose a knight starts on a square of the chessboard. It starts moving around randomly, taking its regular L-shaped steps. How long will it take the knight, on average, to return to its starting square?
Mathematically speaking, chessboards and supermarkets are quite similar. This is a simulation of randomly moving actors - a knight, a mother and a baby - on a certain space - a chessboard or a supermarket. Don't pay too much attention to it: it's for a school project.
